Buildafrique Group, through BUILDAFRIQUE FOUNDATION, believes in integration of social, environmental, ethical human rights, community and consumer concerns into our business operations and strategic goal through close collaboration with society and stakeholders.

Our Work (Areas of Impact)

Buildafrique Foundation and our Organization’s Corporate Social Responsibility agenda involves:

a) Integration of Corporate Social Responsibility into education and training sponsorship programmes for orphaned and less fortunate children of our society.
b) Mentorship programme for the needy children and students who go through our education sponsorship programme.

In line with this, Buildafrique Foundation has managed to educate over five needy and orphaned children through secondary and tertiary education in Kenya to-date. We have also partner with Good Samaritan Children home in Mathare, Nairobi to provide secondary education sponsorship programmes to orphaned and needy children. The following are some of the needy stories we have had the privilege of extending our community and social impact.

1. EDUCATION PROGRAMS FOR ORPHANS AND NEEDY CHILDREN

1.1 Stephen Sila (Needy Student)

Why We Came on Board:

Stephene Sila was a needy Student from Good Samaritan Children Home in Mathare Slums, Nairobi, Kenya. He ended up at the Home after his parents developed a mental disorder and could not be able to support him. Buildafrique Foundation came on board to support him pursue secondary education after completing his primary education while at the Children’s Home.

Social Impact:

Stephene Sila was able to enroll for his secondary education at St Lwanda Secondary School in the year 2013 with later schooling transferred to Rubate Secondary School, in Chuka, Kenya. He later moved to purse a Technical Course in Kiambu Institute of Technology.

Current Status:

Stephene Sila is now self reliant and supporting his needy family to pursue education.

1.2 Solomon Kigia (Needy Student)

Why We Came on Board:

Solomon Kigia was a single mother needy student who had struggled for over 5 years to raise school fees to acquire tertiary education training, after completing his secondary school education. His single mother, who survives on casual odd jobs, could not raise the required school fees, prompting Buildafrique Foundation to come on board to support him pursue a technical course at Kiambu Institute of Science and Technology.

Social Impact:

Solomon Kigia was able to go through the education technical training programme and graduated with a certificate in plumbing.

Current Status:

Solomon Kigia is now employed as an assistant Plumber and is able to support his family of two younger needy brothers. Solomon Kigia also plans to support other needy students to pursue education.

1.3 Christine Onyango (Needy Student)

Why We Came on Board:

Christine Anyango was a needy Student from Good Samaritan Children Home in Mathare Slums, Nairobi, Kenya. She ended up at the Home after her father, who was the family bread winner, abandoned the family at their home in Mathare Slums. Buildafrique Foundation came on board to support her pursue secondary education after completing her primary education while at the Children’s Home.

Social Impact:

Christine Anyango was able to enroll for her secondary education at Rubate Secondary School, Chuka, Kenya, in the year 2013.

Current Status:

Christine Anyango was able to finished her secondary education, and later moved on to pursue college education.
